Apparently they are. The GPS, or Global Positioning System, enables navigation through the network of 24 satellites installed by the U.S. Department of Defense in space initially for military use.

It was offered for civilian use in the 1980s and since then, it has grown smaller and smaller until it became a handheld device that one can carry anywhere. The satellite feeds are free but you need to purchase a gadget to be able to use the positioning system.

It used to be popular only with the outdoorsy men who love to go nature tripping or mountain climbing, but it is fast becoming a necessity for everyone. Most vehicles now have built in GPS. Those handheld GPS signal receivers are very accurate, they are quite quick to latch on to satellite signals and their connection to the signal is always strong wherever you are in the world.

This gadget has replaced the function of the compass or of maps as it can lock on to precise locations and yield good topographic and elevation data. As men always like to know where they are and where they’re headed, this gadget is a welcome surprise for them.

It enhances one’s safety outside the home and can get you back to familiar places if you ever get lost. A device that most men are starting to appreciate; this gadget comes in all forms and sizes and has sophisticated designs. In the city, the gadget can be helpful in locating addresses. It can also get you out of the neck of the woods and back into civilization.
